This past weekend I had my very own booth at WOD (World of Dance) in San Diego…it was my first time having a booth at this event, and i must say, it was a great experience! I made a lot of good connects while I was out there and networked with some good peoples…

S/O to the homie Myron who is one of the co-ordinators of WOD, for hooking me up with a great spot for my booth…i got a lot of love and support from those who were there!

S/O to Dino for hookin me up with some free kicks..i gotta get you to freestlye on them so they really exclusive! To  Eli from DUBmagazine who stopped by the booth to say wassup, and for inviting me to be apart of the DUB SHOW 2010 in San Diego on the 26th of September!  To Phi and Ben of the JBWKZ, thanks for comin out and for gettin a cut…always good to see y’all come and support!

Thanks to Tony and Edward from DA SPOT BARBERSHOP, who came through along with Mikey, Melissa, and Barnabee…S/O to my brotha Moeskeez for flyin out here from Toronto to come kick it with us as well as getting some dope footage of the event, thanks brotha…and a special thanks goes out to my Fiancee, Lyanne, for all the love, support, and motivation to keep me going!!!

From now till the end of this year, i’ve got a lot goin on…just trying to stay busy and productive, in other words i’m on my GRIND!!! Next up on the schedule:  DUBSHOW in San diego 09.26.2010 – WOD in the Bay 10.16.2010…and more to be announced!

What’s poppin y’all…

I just touched down in Vegas with Lyanne, came down to cut up the JBWKZ for their album release party tonight!  As most of you know, I’ve been cuttin up the fella’s for the past few months now and they pretty much have me as their personal barber, which is pretty cool…The JBWKZ have done so much in the past few years especially after being crowned as, America’s Best Dance Crew!  They’ve been featured on many events such as the MTV awards, BET awards, NBA All-Star wknd, and many more…They are now in Vegas trying to pursue their dream!

The Jabbawockeez’ influence has spanned the globe inspiring minds through music and dance. Dressing in expressionless white masks and white gloves, the crew guides the audience’s attention away from individual identities and towards a unified and synchronized group. The Jabbawockeez create a canvas for the audience to visualize the music as they paint beautiful and artistic imagery through precise, intricate movements.

They have been brought back to Vegas by popular demand, doing shows this August 19th-25th at the MGM Grand Hotel…If you haven’t gone to catch a show, be sure to buy your ticket for the next available show! Believe me this is one show you do not want to miss out on!!!

Lastweek I hit up Chris congratulating him on his move to the MIAMI HEAT next season! We both had some news to share with eachother which is always good to hear…We then spoke about making BIG moves and having to make some serious decisions in life, and he asked about how me moving down here has changed my life…

I told Chris that I just felt I had to leave my hometown to see what else there was out there for me…” You got to make sacrifices”…moving down here was the biggest move for me in life but i must say the best!!!

Chris then told me the same about his move…Although he left Toronto to go play down in Miami…He did give Toronto his best, y’all gotta give him that!!! He didn’t pull no VC movements lol…he always came out playing hard (no homo) every game and gave it his all!!! I know he loves the city of Toronto…I mean once you touchdown in T.O you’ll fall in love with the city too!!!

Anyway, Chris hit me up this past weekend letting me know that he’d be touching down L.A sometime next week…So my fiancee and I met up with Chris n his lady yesterday at the telly up in Beverly Hills!  Chris finally got to meet my lady Chris had the Espy Awards Red Carpet event lastnight so he needed to look fresh….

It’s always good to see the homies down in L.A…I told Chris that our wedding will be sometime next year and he already RSVP!!! ahahah Chris, goodluck down in MIAMI…get me down there like we spoke about lol…hold it down and i’ll be seeing you LBJ and DWADE here in L.A for the finals

This past week my homie Chris Bosh was in L.A again…so I was able to come through to Beverly Hills to kick it, line him up, and catch up on everything…

Now I know everyone is wondering and asking where Chris is going next season LOL…all I gotta say is that he’ going to do whats best for his career and his future!!! So Chris, goodluck with everything and I’m sure you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be!

It’s always good to hear from and see my homies from Toronto when they touchdown here in L.A kinda makes me feel like I haven’t left or that I ain’t that far from home…

anyway, I know I haven’t posted up anything in a while, i’ve just been hella busy with work and everything else goin on down here…it’s a very busy life down here in L.A lol everyone is seriously on their hustle…seeing everyone on their grind just makes me work 10 times harder!!!

This past Friday was the opening night for The Jabbawockeez very first showcase, MUS.I.C.  They finally got what they’ve all been working for, to perform live in Vegas!!!  It was only a matter of time until these guys would reach their dream.  From winning the very first Americas Best Dance Crew, to touring world wide, appearing in music videos, movies and commercials… The Jabbawockeez have definitely earned their spot in Las Vegas!!!  

It was early Friday morning when myself and Prince drove down to Vegas.  Prince was asked to help work with the Street Team Promo for the show, alongside LeeJay (manager of the BeatFreaks)  The whole day, myself and Prince worked with the Street Team and had them promote the show all dressed up as the Jbwkz…

I was supposed to cut the rest of the crew up after rehearsals but since it was the opening night, it was a busy and stressful night for the crew…Chris and Phil came through the shop along with Ben from Super Cr3w to get faded on Wednesday evening on their way to Vegas.  So we had to reschedule for Saturday early morning to cut up the rest of the crew…

“After the show, its the after party”…we all headed over to Studio 54 at the MGM to celebrate a great opening show!!! It was Chris’ birthday as well so it was a pretty big celebration…bottles poppin n everything!!! It was a great night indeed!

I would like to finally introduce you all to, DA SPOT BARBERSHOP! Now I know I’ve been living down here in Cali for about 3 months now, and as most of you already know DA SPOT is where i’ve been working at…before I even touched down to Cali, I was online hittin’ up several shops to see if one of them could take me in…There were 3 shops that replied back to me and DA SPOT was more into having me work there than the other 2 shops…

Anyway, from February till this day, workin at the shop has made me feel like I was at home…I’ve had days where I’d be homesick, but once I stepped foot into the shop and started cuttin’ it up, I felt right at home!  The staff I work with are a great group of people that are very supportive and hardworking! They too make me feel at home as well as being apart of the team since day 1…

The shop is located in Pomona, which is a small city out in the suburbs…from what I was told, our location is in the ghetto! However, I don’t see the neighborhood looking ghetto at all.  My first week was very overwhelming because back in Toronto, I had a very diverse group of clients who I would see every week…here the majority of clients are Mexican! (no offense) It would help a lot if I knew how to speak Spanish lol…i’m learning as the days go by

Let me introduce to you all the Staff of the shop…

EDWARD/SHOP OWNER

Edward just turned 22yrs old, and he’s owned DA SPOT for about a year now…thanks to him, I was given a shop to work at and make a name for myself…this dude is a very skilled barber and business man! Just getting to know him and knowing what he’s been through to get to where he’s at is very inspiring…like I always say, “do what you love to do, and make the best of it”

VERO

Next we have, Vero…when I first met Vero, I thought that she was working at the shop as a hairdresser for only women…I was wrong! Vero is a talented barber who can cut, fade, style, you name it she does it all!  She’s probably got the most regulars that come into the shop on a weekly basis! Don’t under estimate her abilities lol…Vero gets down with the clippers!!!

TONY DA BARBER

Last, we got my man Tony Da Barber…this is the dude that got me to work at DA SPOT!…I probably hit this fool up on myspace several times to make sure that he wasn’t bullshitin me on allowing me to work there ahahahah…Tony is one of many barbers I know that could really cut…this dude is crazy with the clippers and designs as well…he could get you in the chair and out with a fresh fade in 10min lol…me and Tony have been talking about some things for the near future so STAY TUNED!!! BIG THINGS

“GET AT ME”…

So this past Thursday I got a call from the NewBoyz saying that they need a cut before they take off for Texas the next morning…i got outta the shop early to try to beat traffic and be in Burbank at their studio by 630pm…anyway i get to the studio on time, got my clippers all set up and checked out the place..pretty nice studio!!!

After cuttin’ up the boyz, they headed over to a photoshoot with photographer, Chris Kiker (www.chriskiker.com) the pictures below are from the shoot…Shoutouts to Tevin, BenJ, and Legacy and the whole NewBoyz crew…keep holdin’ it down!!!

From there, I had to head over to The Marriot in Burbank to cut up the Jabbawockeez before they fly out to Utah for a show this past weekend…They were at the Marriot rehearsing for the finale for ABDC…y’all gotta tune in to that cause their Routine is going to be bananas…so Big ups to the Jabbawockeez for still being one of the best dance crews out there!!!

This past Saturday, I was asked to feature at Active in Brea…My homie Eric aka Episode, is an employee over at Active, and he was nice enough to set up this event with myself alongside, Dino Mayorga, who does artwork on shoes!  I wasn’t really sure as to how this event would turnout, but it actually went very well!  I cut more people than expected and I made some new clients as well…Thanks for the homies who came thru to support the event…(JayP, Indo, and Brian) I didn’t get tipped as much but I did get hooked up with some FREE gear from Active!!!
